Seeing who has logged in
How to tell which members are actually using the site, and how to chase the ones who never signed in.
Creating an account and sending a welcome email doesn't mean anybody used it. The user list shows you who actually has.
On the user list
Under each member's email you'll see one of:
- Active today / Active 5 days ago — when they last used the site.
- Never signed in (in amber) — the account exists, but this person has never logged in.
"Active" tracks real usage, not just logins. It updates while someone is browsing, so a member who signed in months ago but checks the calendar weekly shows as recently active.
Chasing the people who never logged in
Tick Never signed in (N) at the top of /admin/users. The list narrows to just those members, and the Send Welcome Emails (N) button follows the filter — so one click emails a fresh sign-in link to everyone who hasn't gotten started.
This is the usual fix for "we onboarded the troop but half the parents never showed up." A member who lost or ignored the original email gets a new link; nothing breaks if they already had one.
Members awaiting approval are never included in a bulk send, because the welcome email contains a sign-in link and approving them is what grants access.
On a member's profile
Open any member and look at the Activity card:
- Account created — when you (or a self-registration) made the account.
- Last sign-in — the last time they actually logged in, or Never.
- Last active — the most recent evidence they were using the site.
Notes
- Nothing here is stored by MyTroop — it's read live from the sign-in system, which means it was already accurate for members who joined long before this feature existed.
- Only admins can see this. Parents and leaders never see when other members last used the site.
- A member who belongs to more than one troop shows the same activity in both, since it reflects their account rather than any one troop.
