What’s new

Every update to MyTroop, newest first, with the date it reached this site. Updates are often released together, so one date can cover several versions.

  1. Version 1.20.1

    • Bug fix
  2. Version 1.20.0

    • Billing by the day, with small amounts carried forward
Your troop's subscription is now charged only for the days it's active, including the month you start and the month you cancel. Cancelling settles your bill right away, and small monthly totals under $1.00 carry to the next statement instead of being charged. The introductory period covers the subscription; email, texts and storage are billed at cost from day one.
  3. Version 1.19.0

    • Start a troop yourself
Leaders can now set up a troop on MyTroop themselves at mytroop.org/start — create an account, confirm your email, describe your unit, add a card, and your troop's site is live in minutes. Nothing is charged during the free introductory period.
  4. Version 1.18.4

    • Bug fix
  5. Version 1.18.3

    • Bug fix
  6. Version 1.18.2

  8. Version 1.18.0

    • Email the families going to an event
Leaders can now email everyone going to an event from the event page, and each event has its own group email address that going families and leaders can write to.
  9. Version 1.17.0

    • Coming Up shows four months and can load more
The Coming Up list now opens on the next four months, says how far it reaches, and has a Show more button that loads the next four months whenever there is something new to show.
  10. Version 1.16.1

    • Join requests now confirm an email address first
Someone asking to join your troop confirms their email address before the request reaches you, so junk signups never land in your review queue. When you approve someone, you now choose whether to start a new family or add them to one you already have.
    • Bug fixes and improvements
  11. Version 1.15.0

    • More help articles — scouts, groups, resources, billing
New in-app help articles for managing scouts, dens/patrols, CSV import/export, calendar feed import, Resources, and troop billing — with screenshots for the first time.

  19. Version 1.14.1

    • Bug fix
  20. Version 1.14.0

    • Photo emails to your troop list arrive now
Email to a troop mailing list carries up to 25 MB of photos and files. Messages bigger than about one photo used to disappear on the way in — no delivery and no bounce — and now they go through. If you belong to the troop and your message is over the limit, you get a reply explaining why.
  21. Version 1.13.2

    • Bug fix
  22. Version 1.13.1

    • Bug fix
  23. Version 1.13.0

    • See what changed in each release
A dated list of every update, readable from the help centre, with a version number that matches the one in the footer.
  24. Version 1.12.0

    • Guest pricing and a family maximum
Events can charge a separate price for guests and cap the total any one family pays, quoted from a single place so the checkout matches the estimate.
  25. Version 1.11.2

    • The troop switcher respects custom domains
Switching troops sends you to that troop's own domain, and domain settings can only be changed by the server.
  26. Version 1.11.1

    • Texts that exceed the budget are refused up front
A text that would exceed the remaining budget is refused at the send path rather than after you have written it.
  27. Version 1.11.0

    • Dark mode, and a bigger help button
Choose light, dark, or match your device. The help icon is now large enough to hit with a thumb.
  28. Version 1.10.2

    • Fixed a crash on the Scout screens
Scout pages no longer fail when a birthday arrives in an unexpected format.
  29. Version 1.10.1

    • Incoming texts are no longer lost
Fixed a path where an incoming text was acknowledged to the carrier and then dropped.
  30. Version 1.10.0

    • Move photos between albums
Admins can move photos from one album to another in bulk.
  31. Version 1.9.3

    • Bug fix
  32. Version 1.9.2

    • Email limits, and no more exposed addresses
Bulk email is capped per troop, and the assistant's send tool no longer discloses every parent's address to recipients.
  33. Version 1.9.1

    • Verified publishers on the AI consent screen
The consent screen shows whether a connecting application has been verified, and stops vouching for names nobody checked.
    • Bug fixes and improvements
  34. Version 1.8.14

    • Accessibility fixes across shared controls
Brought the shared buttons, dialogs and form controls up to the accessibility standard the rest of the site meets.
  35. Version 1.8.13

    • CSV export and import wait for their data
Exporting or importing a roster no longer acts before the data it needs has loaded.
  36. Version 1.8.12

    • The resource folder manager opens clean
Opening the folder manager starts a fresh session instead of showing stale state.
  37. Version 1.8.11

    • Multi-day events stay visible while they run
An event that has started but not finished still appears under Coming Up and in digests.
  38. Version 1.8.10

    • Bug fix
  39. Version 1.8.9

    • Bug fix
  40. Version 1.8.8

    • Bug fixes and improvements
  41. Version 1.8.6

    • Bug fix
  42. Version 1.8.5

    • Bug fix
  43. Version 1.8.4

    • Photos texted in are no longer dropped
Follows the redirect the carrier returns, so a photo sent by text actually arrives.
  44. Version 1.8.3

    • Text only the people going, and let them reply
Event texts go to the families actually attending, and members can text back.
    • Bug fixes and improvements
  45. Version 1.7.4

    • The text message box starts empty every time
Opening the event text dialog gives you a fresh message instead of the last one you typed.
  46. Version 1.7.3

    • Non-US phone numbers survive a CSV round trip
Exporting and re-importing the roster no longer mangles international phone numbers.
  47. Version 1.7.2

    • Bug fix
  48. Version 1.7.1

    • Repeating events appear in every digest
Digest emails list a repeating event on each date it occurs instead of only the first.
  49. Version 1.7.0

    • Repeating events keep their clock time
A weekly 7pm meeting stays at 7pm across a daylight-saving change, and tapping an occurrence opens that occurrence.
  50. Version 1.6.0

    • Event times follow the event, not the viewer
An event shows the time it actually starts where it happens, rather than shifting to whatever timezone you are reading from.
  51. Version 1.5.0

    • See who has signed in, and who never has
The roster shows each member's most recent sign-in, so admins can spot accounts that were never activated.
  52. Version 1.4.0

    • Tighter AI assistant permissions and custom domain fixes
The MCP integration now enforces the exact permissions you granted, custom domains resolve correctly, and repeated sign-in attempts are detected properly.
  53. Version 1.3.5

    • Bug fix
  54. Version 1.3.4

    • Bug fix
  55. Version 1.3.3

    • Bug fixes and improvements
  56. Version 1.3.0

    • Everyone can see who is coming
RSVP results are visible to every member of the troop, not just leaders.
  57. Version 1.2.0

    • An admin switch for text messaging
Text messaging is off until an admin turns it on, and the switch is now enforced on the server rather than only hidden in the interface.
  58. Version 1.1.0

    • Text messaging, with spend caps
Troops can send text messages to members, with platform limits that stop a runaway send from costing more than anyone intended.
  59. Version 1.0.1

    • Bug fix
  60. Version 1.0.0

    • MyTroop 1.0
The platform as it first ran for troops: calendar and events, RSVPs, transportation, rosters and families, email and text messaging, online payments, pages, photo albums, and the help centre.
